SUVs Lead Mahindra’s Growth With 22% Domestic Jump

Mahindra’s utility vehicle portfolio continues to be the brand’s biggest strength. In November 2025, domestic SUV sales reached 56,336 units, marking a 22% YoY growth. This rise reflects robust demand for the Scorpio N, XUV700, Thar, Bolero Neo, XUV 3XO, and the newly refreshed models in the portfolio.

When exports are included, its total utility vehicle sales climb to 57,598 units, demonstrating the brand’s leadership in India’s competitive mid-size and full-size SUV categories.

Industry watchers note that Mahindra’s strategy of focusing heavily on SUVs—rather than maintaining a broad range of hatchbacks or sedans—continues to pay dividends. The daily waiting periods for certain variants of the Scorpio N and XUV700 also underline the brand’s strong customer pull.

Mahindra’s commercial vehicle (CV) division recorded healthy growth as well. Domestic CV sales stood at 24,843 units, a 17% increase compared to November 2024. This performance highlights the consistent demand in the light commercial vehicle category and Mahindra’s strong foothold in the logistics and last-mile delivery sectors.

Breakdown of CV Performance

  • LCV (2–3.5 tonne): 21,588 units — 20% YoY growth
  • LCV (sub-2 tonne): 3,255 units — 5% YoY growth
  • Three-wheelers (including electric): 8,568 units — 7% YoY growth

The three-wheeler segment, especially its electric variants under its Last Mile Mobility (MLM) arm, continues to perform steadily as EV adoption expands across urban and semi-urban clusters.

Exports added another layer of strength to Mahindra’s November tally. The company shipped 2,923 units to global markets, reflecting a 5% YoY increase. While exports remain a smaller part of Mahindra’s total volumes, the company has shown consistent improvement in international demand over the current financial year.

On a year-to-date (April–November 2025) basis, Mahindra’s exports have grown 30%, reaching 27,241 units. The brand’s growing presence in Africa, South Asia, and select Latin American regions continues to support this expansion.

Mahindra’s year-to-date utility vehicle performance remains equally impressive. From April to November 2025, the company has sold 4,25,530 SUVs in India — an 18% increase compared to the same period last year.

YTD Segment Growth Highlights

  • Utility Vehicles: 4,25,530 units (+18%)
  • LCV (2–3.5 tonne): 1,62,946 units (+13%)
  • Three-wheelers: 74,908 units (+28%)

These figures underline its strong market presence across multiple mobility categories — from family SUVs to intercity logistics vehicles to last-mile electric three-wheelers.

XEV 9S Launch Adds Further Momentum

November was also significant for its electric mobility journey. The company marked the first anniversary of its born-electric SUV, the XEV 9e, and introduced the much-awaited XEV 9S, the brand’s first all-electric three-row SUV.

Priced from ₹19.95 lakh (ex-showroom), the XEV 9S expands its EV lineup to cater to family buyers wanting a larger and more premium electric SUV. The event, held in Bengaluru, also featured the BE 6 Formula E Edition, showcasing Mahindra’s growing influence in the EV and motorsport ecosystem.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s November 2025 performance reflects a strong and balanced growth trajectory. With 92,670 total vehicle sales, a 22% surge in SUV demand, improving CV numbers, and expanding EV offerings, the company continues to solidify its leadership in India’s utility vehicle market.

Growing exports and the launch of the XEV 9S position Mahindra well for an even stronger close to the fiscal year, as demand for SUVs and electric vehicles continues to rise nationwide.
