The e-Vitara is now available for purchase with the battery pack cost included, starting at ₹15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under the conventional ownership model.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In addition to the standard purchase route, the company has also introduced an innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, allowing customers to reduce the upfront vehicle cost and pay for battery usage separately on a per-kilometre basis.
Under the conventional buying structure, the e-Vitara is offered in three primary trims — Delta, Zeta and Alpha — along with a dual-tone version of the top-spec Alpha.
Ex-Showroom Prices
| Grade | Price (Ex-showroom) |
|---|---|
| Delta | ₹15.99 lakh |
| Zeta | ₹17.49 lakh |
| Alpha | ₹19.79 lakh |

Maruti Suzuki is also offering the e-Vitara through a BaaS ownership model, which significantly reduces the upfront vehicle price. Instead of buying the battery outright, customers subscribe to it by paying a per-kilometre usage fee.
BaaS Pricing Structure
| Grade | Vehicle Cost (Ex-showroom) | Battery Subscription Fee (Per km) |
|---|---|---|
| Delta | ₹10.99 lakh | ₹3.99 |
| Zeta | ₹11.99 lakh | ₹4.39 |
| Alpha | ₹14.29 lakh | ₹4.39 |
| Alpha Dual Tone | ₹14.51 lakh | ₹4.39 |
Under this programme, the Delta trim sees its effective starting price drop by ₹5 lakh compared to the standard model. The Zeta and Alpha variants also benefit from lower upfront pricing. The battery subscription fee is calculated based on distance travelled — ₹3.99 per kilometre for the Delta variant and ₹4.39 per kilometre for the Zeta and Alpha trims.
The BaaS model also includes a complimentary home charger with installation, though Maruti Suzuki has clarified that this pricing and structure are applicable only during the introductory period. The Maruti e-Vitara is available with two battery pack options depending on the trim level
Delta Variant – 49 kWh Battery
The Delta grade features a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) producing 105.8 kW (142 hp) and 193 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 49 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a claimed driving range of 440 kilometres on a full charge.
Charging performance for the 49 kWh battery:
- 7.4 kW AC charger: 10% to 100% in approximately 6.5 hours
- DC fast charger: 10% to 80% in around 45 minutes
This configuration focuses on urban usability and balanced performance.
Zeta & Alpha Variants – 61 kWh Battery
The Zeta and Alpha trims receive a more powerful PMSM motor producing 128 kW (172 hp) while maintaining the same 193 Nm of torque output. These variants are equipped with a larger 61 kWh LFP battery pack, increasing the certified driving range to 543 kilometres.
Charging performance for the 61 kWh battery:
- 7.4 kW AC charger: 10% to 100% in approximately 9 hours
- DC fast charger: 10% to 80% in around 45 minutes
The larger battery and higher output motor make the upper trims more suitable for highway usage and long-distance travel.

With the e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki is attempting to address one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in India — high upfront cost. By introducing both traditional purchase and subscription-based battery ownership, the company is giving customers flexibility based on their driving patterns and financial preferences.
The Delta trim targets affordability and urban buyers, while the Zeta and Alpha grades cater to customers seeking higher performance and extended driving range. The inclusion of a complimentary home charger under both ownership models further enhances value, particularly for early adopters.
The introduction of the BaaS model is particularly noteworthy, as it allows buyers to lower their initial investment while spreading battery costs over time based on actual usage.
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara represents a significant strategic shift for the brand as it enters the electric vehicle market with a competitive pricing structure and flexible ownership options. Starting at ₹15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) with the battery included — and ₹10.99 lakh under BaaS — the e-Vitara positions itself as an accessible electric SUV in the mid-size segment.
With two battery options, strong range figures and DC fast-charging capability, the e-Vitara aims to compete aggressively in India’s growing EV landscape while maintaining the brand’s core values of practicality and cost-conscious ownership.
