The standard TRK 552 is designed primarily for riders who spend most of their time on paved roads and highways. On the other hand, the TRK 552X features spoke wheels, a larger front wheel and increased ground clearance, making it better suited to riders who wish to explore gravel roads and less-developed routes.

The TRK 552X Limited Edition features an exclusive yellow colour scheme, which distinguishes it from the regular variants. Prospective buyers should confirm on-road prices, insurance costs, registration charges and delivery timelines with their local authorised dealership.

554cc Parallel-Twin Engine Produces 52 bhp

Both motorcycles share a new 554cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine. The powerplant produces a claimed 52 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 49 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission and a slipper clutch. This combination is designed to deliver smooth gear changes and controlled downshifts, particularly during spirited riding or extended touring.

Since both motorcycles share the same engine, buyers do not have to choose between the TRK 552 and TRK 552X based on peak power figures. Instead, the key distinction lies in their wheel configurations, tyres, ground clearance and intended riding environments.

For riders upgrading from a smaller-capacity motorcycle, the parallel-twin configuration offers a middleweight adventure-touring option with an emphasis on highway performance and long-distance usability.

Benelli TRK 552 Features a Road-Focused Design

The standard Benelli TRK 552 is built for riders who prioritise highway touring, everyday road use and long-distance travel. It features 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels at both ends, paired with Pirelli tyres.

The front tyre measures 120/70ZR17, while the rear uses a 160/60ZR17 specification. This road-focused setup is intended to suit predominantly paved riding conditions.

The motorcycle offers 190 mm of ground clearance and an 835 mm seat height. Compared with the 552X, its lower seat height may be more approachable for riders who prefer a less demanding riding position when stopping or manoeuvring the motorcycle.

The TRK 552 is offered in black and white colour options. Its design combines adventure-tourer styling with road-oriented hardware, making it suitable for riders who primarily undertake highway journeys and occasional urban commutes.

Benelli TRK 552X Offers Adventure-Oriented Hardware

Benelli TRK 552 & TRK 552X Launched in India - Prices, Features, Specifications & Key Differences

The Benelli TRK 552X is aimed at riders who want additional versatility beyond paved roads. Its most important hardware difference is the wheel setup, which consists of a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel with spoke construction.

The motorcycle uses Metzeler tyres measuring 110/80R19 at the front and 150/70R17 at the rear. This configuration is designed to support adventure-oriented riding across a broader range of road surfaces.

Ground clearance increases to 210 mm, while the seat height rises to 860 mm. The additional clearance can be useful on uneven surfaces, although the taller seat may require more consideration from shorter riders.

The TRK 552X is available in green and white, while the yellow colour scheme is associated with the Limited Edition.

Riders who regularly travel on broken roads, gravel stretches or routes with uneven surfaces may find the 552X’s hardware more suitable for their needs. However, its adventure-oriented configuration should not be confused with a dedicated off-road motorcycle.

New 5-Inch TFT Display & Connected Technology

Technology is one of the major updates across the new Benelli TRK 552 lineup. Both motorcycles receive a 5-inch TFT instrument display designed to provide essential riding information and connected functions.

The technology package includes:

  • Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration.
  • Navigation with route planning and turn-by-turn directions.
  • Offline navigation and trackback functionality.
  • T-BOX connectivity.
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

These features are particularly relevant for touring riders who depend on navigation during unfamiliar journeys. Offline navigation and trackback functionality can also be useful when exploring remote routes where mobile connectivity may be unreliable.

The TPMS provides tyre-pressure information and alerts riders when abnormal pressure is detected. Maintaining the correct tyre pressure is important for handling, tyre life and overall riding safety.

The availability and operation of individual connected services may depend on setup, device compatibility and the manufacturer’s applicable service arrangements.

Touring Comfort: Heated Grips, Heated Seat & Adjustable Handlebar

Long-distance comfort is another key focus of the new TRK motorcycles. Both variants feature heated grips and a heated seat, helping riders manage colder conditions during early-morning departures and winter touring.

Benelli has also introduced redesigned seats with additional padding, an adjustable handlebar and new hand guards. Together, these features are intended to improve riding ergonomics and provide additional protection for the hands.

A 20-litre fuel tank supports the motorcycles’ touring-oriented design by providing substantial fuel capacity for longer journeys. Actual riding range will depend on fuel consumption, road conditions, riding style and load.

The combination of comfort equipment and connected technology positions the TRK 552 family as a touring-focused offering for riders who regularly cover long distances.

Suspension, Chassis & Braking System

Both motorcycles use a tubular steel trellis frame paired with an aluminium swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by a 50 mm Marzocchi upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload.

The suspension configuration is intended to provide stability and allow riders to adjust the rear suspension according to riding conditions and load.

Braking hardware consists of twin 320 mm floating discs at the front and a 260 mm disc at the rear. Bosch dual-channel ABS is provided on both models to help maintain braking control and reduce the risk of wheel lock-up under appropriate operating conditions.

Both motorcycles also feature TPMS, adding another layer of information for riders monitoring their motorcycle during extended journeys.

Which Benelli TRK 552 Model Should You Choose?

Choosing between the two motorcycles largely depends on riding preferences and typical road conditions.

The Benelli TRK 552 is the more suitable option for riders who primarily use highways, paved roads and urban routes. Its 17-inch alloy wheels, road-focused Pirelli tyres, 190 mm ground clearance and 835 mm seat height reflect its touring-oriented purpose.

The Benelli TRK 552X is better suited to riders who want a more adventure-oriented setup. Its 19-inch front spoke wheel, Metzeler tyres, 210 mm ground clearance and taller 860 mm seat height distinguish it from the standard model.

Both variants share the same engine output, transmission, core suspension hardware, braking system and major touring features. Therefore, the decision should be based on intended usage, riding comfort, terrain and budget rather than engine performance alone.

Conclusion

The launch of the Benelli TRK 552 and TRK 552X introduces a substantially updated adventure-touring lineup for the Indian market. With a 554cc parallel-twin engine producing 52 bhp and 49 Nm, a six-speed gearbox, a 5-inch TFT display, heated grips, a heated seat and TPMS, both motorcycles offer a comprehensive package for long-distance riders.

Starting at ₹7.22 lakh, the TRK 552 targets road-focused touring, while the ₹7.74 lakh TRK 552X caters to riders seeking additional ground clearance and adventure-oriented wheel hardware. The ₹7.90 lakh TRK 552X Limited Edition adds a distinctive yellow finish.

Ultimately, the standard TRK 552 prioritises paved-road touring, whereas the TRK 552X offers greater versatility for mixed-surface adventures. Buyers should compare the two configurations, consider seat height and riding requirements, and confirm final ownership costs with an authorised Benelli Keeway dealership before making a decision.
