New Tata Tiago Facelift 2026 Breaks Cover: What’s Changed In ICE And EV Models
Tata Motors has officially pulled the wraps off the 2026 Tata Tiago facelift, and this time both the petrol-powered Tiago and Tiago EV have been updated together. Scheduled to launch on May 28, 2026, the refreshed hatchback lineup brings a sharper design, new features and likely improvements to the EV package as well.
The Car has been one of Tata’s most important entry-level products, and with this update, the company is trying to make both ICE and electric versions look more premium and future-ready.
The biggest talking point of the new Tiago is its redesigned exterior. Gone are the softer curves of the outgoing model. The facelift adopts a much sharper and more modern styling language. Up front, the hatchback gets sleeker rectangular LED headlamps, a redesigned grille area and a larger lower air intake that gives the car a wider appearance. Vertical detailing on the bumper further adds to the sporty look.

The EV version gets its own identity with a more body-coloured front fascia and a cleaner closed-off look that differentiates it from the petrol model. Interestingly, the EV version appears to skip fog lamps, unlike the ICE version.
From the side, Tata has retained the familiar proportions but introduced new dual-tone alloy wheels and additional body cladding for a tougher appearance. The EV also receives aero-inspired wheel inserts for better efficiency.
At the rear, both versions receive new connected LED tail lamps, an updated bumper and refreshed styling details that make the hatchback look noticeably more premium.
While Tata has not fully revealed the interior yet, the teaser confirms some notable updates. The new Tiago appears to receive a free-standing digital instrument cluster along with redesigned seats featuring integrated headrests. Feature additions are expected to include:
- Larger touchscreen infotainment system
- Wireless charging
- Ventilated front seats
- 360-degree camera

The addition of a 360-degree camera could become one of the segment highlights if offered across higher variants. Safety appears to be a key focus for Tata with this update. Reports suggest the facelift could bring 6 airbags as standard or on more variants, along with features such as:
- Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
- Hill Hold Control
- Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
- Rear parking sensors
- ISOFIX child-seat mounts
- 360-degree camera
Mechanically, the petrol varient is expected to remain familiar. The hatchback is likely to continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, along with the factory-fitted CNG option. Transmission choices are expected to remain 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.
For the Tiago EV, Tata could introduce improved battery efficiency, better range figures and faster charging capability while continuing with multiple battery pack options.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the 2026 Tiago and Tiago EV will launch on May 28, 2026. Expected pricing currently starts from around Rs 4.50 lakh for the Tiago and approximately Rs 8 lakh for the Tiago EV (ex-showroom).

The Tiago will continue to rival hatchbacks such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Maruti Suzuki Swift, while the Tiago EV will compete with alternatives including the MG Comet EV and Citroen eC3.
With a completely refreshed design, upgraded technology and expected improvements in safety and EV capability, the 2026 Tata Tiago facelift looks set to remain one of Tata Motors’ most important mass-market launches this year. For buyers planning an affordable hatchback or entry-level EV, this could be worth waiting for.
